Doctor Yeargan has over ten years of clinical experience and in 2010, was the first to introduce stem cell treatment to the area. As a result of this local initiative, internationally published Becker’s Orthopedic and Spine Review described him as on the “cutting edge of this technology” and recognized him alongside his mentors as one of the top 10 “Orthopedic leaders to know.” It was recognized again in 2011 that he was at the forefront of stem cell therapy and one of the top orthopedic and spine surgeons. Doctor Yeargan has recently focused all of his clinical interest on regenerative medicine and the development of non-surgical interventions for a broad range of orthopedic problems. He has developed Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Bone Marrow Stem Cell Aspirate therapy programs for patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. His research continues into advancing regenerative therapies as well as the research and development of novel approaches and techniques. He hopes that these techniques will help patients continue to enjoy their recreational and vocational pursuits as long as possible.

Doctor Yeargan, a Raleigh native, earned his science degree in chemistry at UNC Chapel Hill in 1993 prior to attending the East Carolina University School of Medicine.He completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Hawaii, spending six months each at the Tripler Army Medical Center and Shriner’s Hospital for Children. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society as well as many other professional societies.During his time in Hawaii, Doctor Yeargan gained additional expertise by completing two years of clinical and bench research, focusing on cellular and molecular level changes in thermal capsulorrhaphy and cartilage injury. He then completed a sports medicine, adult shoulder, elbow and knee fellowship with additional hand training at the world class Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. During his fellowship, he worked with the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and the US Ski and Snowboard teams. More recently, he has served as a team physician for local high schools and is actively involved in community outreach programs as well. He has lectured and written on musculoskeletal topics at the national and international level and has contributed to textbooks at the academic level.
